Dibrugarh University Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post or career of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a time bound research project entitled "Investigation of climate change in relation to Land use and Land Cover changes and consequent localized extreme events over North-East India for a temporary period, purely on contractual basis in the Department of Physics.

Essential Qualification :
B.S. 4 years programme/Integrated BS-MS/MSc/BE/BTech or equivalent degree, with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test in Physics, Geomatics Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Geophysics, Earth Science, Atmospheric Physics
Fellowship : Rs. 37000/- per month
Age Limit : 28 Yrs.
The upper age limit is relax-able up-to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.

Job Roles :
- Utilization of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote Sensing technology to analyse land use land cover (LULC) patterns and climate change.
- Need to analyse the Extreme event's impact and report suitable measures to prevent and sustain.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of climate change on each of the LULC classes, and prepare reports documenting project outcomes and lessons learned.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing techniques for spatial analysis and mapping
- Knowledge of any programming language (Python/JavaScript/R) and Google Earth Engine is desirable.
