Assam: Bus accident in Goalpara leaves 10 injured

Guwahati: At least ten people were injured in Goalpara, Assam after three vehicles collided with one another on Saturday.

The three-vehicle collision occurred in Rangjuli town, Goalpara district, resulting in serious injuries.

According to reports, an inter-district bus travelling from Goalpara to Guwahati lost control due to alleged excessive speeding on National Highway 17, crashing into a passenger vehicle and a crane.

The bus, according to locals and even some passengers on it was travelling at a high speed beyond the "prescribed speed limit".

Due to the alleged speed, the bus rammed into a car and veered off course, hitting a crane and ending up in a nearby field.

The car sustained significant damage, while the bus and crane were severely impacted.

Approximately 10-12 people were injured in the collision.

An investigation has been launched and the driver of the bus has been brought under the investigation.
