Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won two Rajya Sabha seats in Assam uncontested.

Rameshwar Teli and Mission Ranjan Das emerged as uncontested winners as the opposition decided to not field candidates.

This decision paved the way for a smooth win for the BJP nominees.

The election process concluded without a contest, and the election officials formally declared Teli and Das victorious, presenting them with their certificates.

This brings the total number of Rajya Sabha MPs to three in Assam.

Teli and Das both submitted their nominations on August 21, with Teli expressing confidence in an uncontested win due to the lack of opposition candidates.
