“We are aggressively moving towards a #GreenEnergy regime where most of our electricity and public transport needs will be met though clean sources of energy in the coming days,” Sarma wrote in a post on X

“Under PM Surya Ghar, we've already installed 1.8MW of Rooftop Solar plants and have brought about several changes in policies to encourage its further adoption,” he added.

To ensure seamless transition of solar power to consumers, the state government has also taken a series of steps.

Net-Metering adopted for Residential Consumers with capacity upto 10 kW wherein the solar units exported by the consumers to the grid shall be adjusted against unit consumption from the grid.

Technical Feasibility approval has also been waived off for installations upto 10 kW Rooftop Solar capacity

Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) will automatically enhance the sanctioned load up to 10 kW upon commissioning of rooftop solar systems.

Rooftop solar plants will be commissioned within three days of installation and smart meters will also be given without any additional payment to beneficiaries.

State subsidies will be promptly released following the central subsidies.

A five-day training program at MSME-Tool Room and Training Centre in Amingaon has trained 107 solar technicians for skill development and capacity building

Distribution Transformer (DTR) augmentation and new installations are also underway to facilitate smooth implementation of the scheme.
