Assam: Acid attacker gets ten years imprisonment in Karimganj

Guwahati: A court in Karimganj, Assam has sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for an acid attack he committed in 2019.

The Karimganj District Court sentenced Samsul Haque to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 for his involvement in an acid attack case in 2019.

The court's decision marks the culmination of a nearly four-year-long legal battle.

The acid attack occurred in Tilabari, Patharkandi, where Haque assaulted a woman under the guise of purchasing a dog.

The victim's complaint led to Haque's prosecution and eventual conviction.
