Assam: 80-yr-old missing doctor found dead in Dibrugarh drain
Dibrugarh: The body of a missing 80-year-old doctor, Dr. Pratyush Kumar Debroy, was discovered in a drain in Paltan Bazar in Assam's Dibrugarh town on Friday.
The body was spotted by a passerby in the DTP drain, raising concerns among local residents.
Dr. Debroy, a resident of Jalan Nagar, had been reported missing since the evening of October 11.
His wife had filed a missing person report at Barbari Police Outpost, stating that he had gone out to visit Durga Puja pandals and had not returned.
The body was identified as that of Dr. Debroy based on a card bearing his name, address, and mobile number found near the scene. However, formal identification is still pending.
Dibrugarh police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dr. Debroy's death. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
