Guwahati: On Wednesday, at least 30 people were injured after two buses met with a head-on collision in the Rampur area of Kamrup, Assam.

According to reports, a bus bearing registration number AS-01LC-9478 towards Guwahati.

While on its way, it collided head-on with a bus heading towards Goalpara.

During the incident, at least 30 people were injured.

All of them were taken to the hospital for medical attention.

It was further reported that the drivers of both the buses are in critical condition.

It may be mentioned that buses on the Guwahati-Goalpara route are accused of being driven rashly with minimum to no adherence to traffic or safety norms.

Often buses are seen being driven over the speed limit and sometimes even faster than some private vehicles on the road.

This has led to a hazard and a concern for the safety of passengers on board the buses as well as people outside them.

Apart from just fining buses, there have been no measures from concerned police and transport department officials to control such menace.
