Assam: 13 convicted for triple murder get life imprisonment in Dhubri

Guwahati: At least 13 people who were convicted for murdering three individuals were sentenced to life by a court in Bilasipara of Dhubri, Assam on Monday.

The Additional District and Sessions Judge sentenced the thirteen individuals to life imprisonment and imposed a fine on each for their involvement in the triple murder case.

The murder took place in the Boalkamri area of Dhubri in 1996.

The case dates back to December 23, 1996, when three individuals, Sayed Ali, Moynal Hoque, and Asur Uddin, were murdered while trying to save Majid Ali, who was being attacked by the accused with sharp weapons.

The persons convicted in the case were identified as Abbas Ali, Ali Hussain, Abu Bakkar Siddique, Younus Ali, Insaf Ali, Naushad Ali, Sahid Ali, Golap Nabi, Hazrat Ali, Alam Sheikh, Moslem Uddin, Khaybar Ali, and Sadek Ali.

They were found guilty under Sections 149, 302, and 326 of the Indian Penal Code.
