Assam: 12-year-old drowns in pond in Guwahati
Guwahati: A 12-year-old boy lost his life after drowning in a pond located on the outskirts of Guwahati, Assam on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the Dharapur area of Guwahati.
The deceased has been identified as Arif Ali.

He reportedly resided in a rented house with his parents in the area. According to reports, Arif was taking a bath in the pond with friends when the sudden drowning occurred.
Locals along with emergency rescue teams responded promptly upon receiving information about the incident.

Search and rescue personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) arrived at the scene but they could only retrieve Arif's body.
The body was later sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a post-mortem examination.
