Assam: 11 country-made guns seized in Kokrajhar

Guwahati: A huge haul of country-made rifles was seized by the police in Kokrajhar, Assam on Tuesday night.

A police source said that the items were seized based on intelligence provided to the Kokrajhar Police by the Army.

Based on the input, the police launched a probe and reached the Dakshin Galajoda area in Kokrajhar.

During this operation, they found around 11 firearms hidden.

The guns were immediately seized and handed over to the concerned police team for further investigation.

However, it was not known who these rifles belonged to.

Also, the source said that the police team only recovered the rifles and no ammunition.
