Miao: A rare and exciting sighting has occurred in the Namdapha National Park & Tiger Reserve (NNP&TR) in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district. After a year-long absence from camera traps, a tiger has been successfully captured on film.

The tiger was recorded in August this year by a camera set up in the park's core area. The discovery was made during a routine check of the park's surveillance equipment.

This is the first time a tiger has been documented in the NNP&TR since April, when a park staffer had a fleeting encounter with the elusive big cat along the Miao-Vijaynagar road.

The sighting has delighted park officials and conservationists alike. "This remarkable discovery is a testament to the unwavering efforts made to protect and conserve the region's biodiversity," said NNP&TR Director VK Jawal.

Jawal emphasized that these camera trap images not only showcase the park's incredible wildlife but also reaffirm the park authorities' commitment to preserving their natural habitat.

"Our dedicated team continues to monitor the health and population of this majestic species as part of our ongoing conservation initiatives," he added.

The director expressed gratitude to the local communities for their active support in safeguarding vital ecosystems and their inhabitants.
