Guwahati: A public rally was held on Thursday by the Jan Andolan Anti-Corruption Movement of Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Arunachal unit of India Against Corruption and other groups, calling for the resignation of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, reported by The Arunachal Times.

Members of various NGOs and political parties also attended the event.

Speaking to reporters, Nabam Tagam, chairman of the Jan Andolan Anti-Corruption Movement of Arunachal Pradesh, criticised the slow progress of court proceedings related to corruption cases involving the chief minister and his family.

He said, “We are frustrated with delayed justice. Having no other option, we are taking the matter to the public. The people of Arunachal will now decide the government’s fate.”

Tagam urged the government to initiate a CBI investigation into the alleged corruption charges and called for the resignation of the chief minister.

He also mentioned plans to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister’s Office in the near future.
