Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein chaired a high-level review meeting on the projects, emphasizing the importance of preserving historical legacies while promoting tourism.

The initiative aims to attract WWII enthusiasts, researchers, and remembrance travellers globally, while also generating livelihood opportunities for local communities in areas such as guiding, hospitality, handicrafts, and transport. The commemorative events will include a Willy Jeep ride along the historic route from the Hump Museum in Pasighat to Pangsau Pass in Changlang District. Plans also include developing a tourist circuit and heritage trail along the Stilwell Road (Ledo Road), turning it into a unique global attraction.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Research & Cultural Affairs Dasanglu Pul, MLAs Oken Tayeng and Laisam Simai, Commissioner (Planning) Ankur Garg, Commissioner (Finance) Y W Ringu, Advisor & Secretary (Planning) R. K. Sharma, Secretary (Research) B. J. Duia, Lt. Colonel T C Tayum, and Director (Research) Sangeet Dubey.
