Arunachal Pradesh: Strong winds disrupt electricity supply in Tawang
TAWANG: Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh has been grappling with disrupted electricity supply for the past three days due to strong winds wreaking havoc across the region.
Similar reports of strong winds and thunderstorms causing power disruptions have emerged from various parts of the Mon region, including Lumla, Dirang, and Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh.
In West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, the onslaught of strong winds started on Thursday (May 02) morning.
As a precautionary measure, the Arunachal Pradesh power department initiated temporary power cuts to Bomdila and Dirang.

However, electricity supply was restored by evening.
The storm inflicted damages on three spans of 11 KV lines between Dibbin and Mathow, along with reports of two distribution points (DPs) being affected in Bichum district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The Arunachal Pradesh power department noted that the intense winds resulted in numerous trees falling onto supply lines in Tawang district.
While workers have been actively deployed to address the issue, power restoration efforts have faced challenges in several areas of the district.
