ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu has called for the rapid restoration of road connectivity in the flood-affected districts of the state.

Recent floods and landslides in Arunachal Pradesh have severely disrupted transportation routes, necessitating urgent action.

In a high-level meeting convened on Thursday (July 11), Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu, along with chief secretary Dharmendra and other senior officials, assessed the overall damage and formulated immediate restoration strategies.

"Early restoration of roads damaged by floods and landslides is crucial to ensuring access to essential services and aid," stated Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu.

He announced the allocation of special funds for the urgent repair of the critical road link from Parsi-Parlo to Koloriang, including the bridge over the Kumey River.

"The restoration plan must be prepared and implemented without delay," he directed.

Additionally, the Arunachal Pradesh chief minister instructed relevant departments to ensure the timely provision of essential medicines and food supplies to the affected areas.

He was also briefed on the successful efforts by the Kurung Kumey district administration to reopen the Damin road for vehicular movement, which had been cut off for several days due to the floods.
