Pasighat: In view of the upcoming panchayat election, the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) conducted a Joining-cum-Interaction programme today at the Mebo PPA office under the 39th Mebo (ST) Assembly constituency.

The programme, convened under the leadership of the party’s local MLA for the 39th Mebo (ST) seat, Oken Tayeng, along with the Pasighat East MLA from PPA, Tapi Darang, brought together new members, party workers, and community residents for an open dialogue on local priorities and party plans during the joining ceremony.

Organizers said the event had three main goals: to welcome and formally induct new members into the party, to provide a platform for constituents to raise local issues directly with party representatives, and to outline the party’s development priorities for the constituency going forward.

A mix of speeches, short presentations, and a question-and-answer session formed the programme schedule.

Key topics discussed included rural infrastructure, road maintenance, agricultural support for smallholders, youth employment, and healthcare access.

Several attendees highlighted the need for improved connectivity between villages and better support for local farmers, while youth participants asked about skill training and opportunities for entrepreneurship.

Party leaders listened to concerns, noted specific action points, and committed to follow-up meetings with affected panchayats and local officials.

Speakers emphasized the party’s grassroots approach and the importance of continuing direct engagement with constituents.

They encouraged newly joined members to take active roles in community outreach and local organizing and urged residents to use the party’s local offices as a resource for registering grievances and seeking assistance.

The mass joining included voters and leaders from other parties from Aohali, Silluk, Ngopok, Namsing, and nearby areas.

Along with the mass joining programme, an interactive meeting of voters and joining leaders was also held on the same day.

The interactive segment allowed villagers to present concrete local issues, from irrigation needs to school repairs, and organizers promised to compile these items into a constituency brief to be pursued with relevant government departments.

Several new office-bearers for ward-level committees were also announced during the event.

Both PPA MLAs, Oken Tayeng and Tapi Darang, described the programme as constructive and well attended and called it the first in a series of planned interactions aimed at strengthening the party’s connection with the Mebo Assembly constituency.

They invited residents who could not attend to visit the local party office or contact constituency volunteers for support and information about future events.
