Arunachal's fourth Lok Adalat resolves 229 cases, settles over Rs 1.17 crore
Guwahati: During the fourth National Lok Adalat of 2025 held at various subordinate courts across Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, 229 out of 3,530 cases were resolved, resulting in a total settlement of Rs 1,17,93,071.23.
Twenty-seven benches were set up at the district and sessions courts in Bomdila, Pasighat, Tezu, Yupia, and Aalo, as well as at the additional district and sessions court in Basar.
The chief judicial magistrate courts in Bomdila, Seppa, Pasighat, Ziro, Tezu, Changlang, Daporijo, Yupia, and Aalo participated, along with the judicial magistrate first class courts in Tawang, Anjaw, Pangin, Yingkiong, Koloriang, Longding, Anini, Yupia, Namsai, Khonsa, and Palin.
The Lohit District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) also handled the listed cases.
The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) provided the information in an official press release.
Lok Adalat serves as an alternative dispute resolution forum, allowing parties to settle disputes amicably, whether at the pre-litigation stage or for pending cases.
Filing a case in Lok Adalat does not require any court fees, APSLSA added.
