Dibrugarh: Arunachal Pradesh's Lohit district administration has issued an urgent public safety advisory following a weather warning from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to an official document dated June 29, 2026, severe thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and heavy rainfall are expected to affect the region until July 2, 2026.

Authorities have urged residents, commuters, and travel agencies to exercise extreme caution.

Key advisories include avoiding landslide-prone areas, riverbanks, and unnecessary night travel.

The public has also been advised not to enter rivers or nullahs for recreational activities and to ensure livestock are safely secured to prevent drowning.

Residents have been asked to keep an emergency kit ready and remain alert to official updates.

Emergency contact numbers for the District Emergency Operation Centre and the District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) have been activated to respond promptly to any crisis.
