Arunachal: East Siang traffic police nab 31 juvenile drivers in Pasighat
Pasighat: In an ongoing enforcement drive against juvenile driving, the East Siang Traffic Police on Friday detected 31 juveniles driving or riding near IGJ Government Higher Secondary School in Arunachal Pradesh’s Pasighat.
Most of the violators were students of the IGJ School.
After being counseled about their offenses and the associated legal consequences, they were released with a stern warning, said Ayup Boko, Dy. SP (HQ).
As per Section 199A of the Motor Vehicles Act, juveniles are strictly prohibited from driving motor vehicles.
Violations can result in legal consequences not only for the juvenile but also for the guardian or the vehicle's owner.
The East Siang Police has previously issued multiple advisories and conducted awareness programs aimed at discouraging juvenile driving and ensuring the safety of students and the general public.
The East Siang Traffic Police urges all parents, guardians, and citizens to strictly adhere to traffic rules, encourage responsible road behaviour, and help prevent avoidable accidents. "Road safety is a shared responsibility, and collective efforts can save precious lives," said Dy. SP Ayup Boko.
