Guwahati: The East Siang Police in Arunachal Pradesh arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized narcotic substances as part of ongoing operations under Operation Dawn 2.0.

The targeted raid was carried out on November 15 based on credible intelligence inputs.

The Anti-Drug Squad (ADS) apprehended Kadum Yomso, a resident of Sibo village in Pasighat.
The operation was led by ADS in-charge DySP Ayup Boko, assisted by SI K. Tangha, ASI (SG) K. Yomso, Ct. T. Ragyor, and driver Ct. M. Rina, in coordination with Pasighat Anti-Drug Warrior Nini Tamin and his team.

During the search, officials recovered approximately 6.17 grams of suspected heroin and 1.97 grams of suspected ganja from the accused.

The seizure was made in accordance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and witnessed by independent observers.

Following the arrest, the accused, along with the seized contraband, was handed over to the Pasighat Police Station.

A case has been filed under PSGT/PS/C/No.99/2025, U/S 20(a)/21(b) of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is in progress.

East Siang Superintendent of Police Pankaj Lamba, IPS, lauded the ADS team for their timely and coordinated action.

He stated that the district maintains a zero-tolerance policy on drug trafficking and urged the public to stay alert and report any drug-related activities to the authorities.
