Dibrugarh: Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles on Friday organised a patriotic programme in Arunachal's Khonsa to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’.

The programme was held as part of the nationwide celebration being observed across the country from November 7 to 14, 2025.

Similar events were also conducted by the Battalion in the villages of Lazu, Noglo, Wakka, Soha, and Deomali to ensure participation from different parts of the Tirap district.

The activities were aimed at educating students and youth on the historical and cultural significance of the National Song, and motivating them to join the national campaign.

Assam Rifles also encouraged participants to upload their individual and group renditions of ‘Vande Mataram’ on the official Government portal vandemataram150.in so that youth from Tirap can also be part of the national tribute.

Officials of the Battalion stated that ‘Vande Mataram’ is not only linked to the freedom movement of India but is also a symbol of national unity and patriotic spirit.

The Assam Rifles informed that it will continue such outreach and awareness programmes for the youth of the area.
