Arunachal: Ane Siang Production launches new film 'Nanne' in Pasighat
Pasighat: Ane Siang Production of Arunachal Pradesh's Pasighat on Monday formally launched the much-anticipated film Nanne, marking the official beginning of its shooting.
The event drew excitement and heartfelt participation from the entire cast and crew, all of whom were present to celebrate the start of this meaningful project.
The dedicated cast—including Liibo Jamoh, Orik Taboh, Karsing Ripuk, Tabiram Tali, George Mongku, Yatok Taga, Ainaw Badu, Sobi Pertin, and Bibi Panyang—attended the film’s shoot-launching ceremony.
Liibo Jamoh pens the story and dialogues, while Dinesh Kaman and Liibo Jamoh jointly direct the film. Sunita Chungkürang handles the make-up artistry.
Adding lyrical depth to the project are lyricists Bodong Yirang, Nakkeng Perme, and Star Siram, who have already earned wide acclaim from the public, especially among the Adi and Mising communities of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
Singers Gisáng Megü, Oling Megu, Oyut Boko, Elizabeth Ratan, Star Siram, and Kaling Taloh will voice the musical expressions and are also well known for their outstanding contributions to music in the state.
Nanne, a film with heart, carries a deeper meaning beyond its cinematic promises, as it conveys a powerful and emotional message about womanhood. The background story of Nanne is rooted in the real-life experiences of girls and women, their unspoken sacrifices, their responsibilities, and the expectations placed upon them by society.
Nanne portrays the journey of a woman who postpones her own dreams, including marriage, to shoulder the burdens and duties that fall upon her.
The film seeks to portray why many women delay marriage—not out of unwillingness, but out of responsibility, dedication, and love for their families.
Nanne shines a light on the strength of women who silently carry the weight of others, often giving up parts of their own lives so that others may thrive.
The film hopes to spark conversations about empathy, understanding, and respect for the unseen struggles women endure in their lives.
It attempts to redefine womanhood not merely as a role but as a resilient spirit that continues to give, even when the world does not notice.
“A promising beginning, the inaugural event concluded with optimism, unity, and a shared sense of purpose among the cast and crew,” shared Liibo Jamoh, the man behind the film.
“With its thoughtful message and dedicated team, the film is poised to become a meaningful addition to regional cinema,” said Dinesh Kaman, a renowned actor and director of Mising and Adi films who hails from Assam.
As shooting begins, Nanne promises not only to entertain the public but also to touch hearts and provoke reflection on the lives of women in the countryside villages of Arunachal Pradesh—women like Nanne, the film’s main character.
