Guwahati: In a bid to bolster state security and protect its territorial integrity, the Arunachal Pradesh government has issued a directive to intensify Inner Line Permit (ILP) checks at all entry points and check gates.

The move aims to rigorously scrutinize individuals entering the state, ensuring they possess valid ILPs, a prerequisite for entry.

Deputy commissioners have been instructed to implement comprehensive checks, verifying ILPs thoroughly, with a focus on preventing unauthorized entry.

The directive highlights the importance of distinguishing between different ILP categories, particularly the electronic ILP (eILP) for tourists, which must not be used by labourers or migrant workers.

Deputy commissioners are tasked with enforcing this distinction to curb illegal immigration.

The state government has called for immediate compliance and regular reporting on actions taken, including any suspicious activities observed during checks.
