ITANAGAR: Before the assembly elections even began, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured victories in Arunachal Pradesh, as eight of its candidates won uncontested due to the withdrawal of nominations and rejection of opposition candidates.

Among those, who have been elected unopposed to the Arunachal Pradesh assembly is, incumbent chief minister Pema Khandu, who secured an uncontested win from the Mukto assembly constituency in Tawang.

The other seven BJP candidates to have secured unopposed wins are: Hage Appa from Ziro, Mutchu Mithi from Roing, Ratu Techi from Sagalee, Techi Kaso from Itanagar, Jike Tako from Tali, Dasanglu Pul from Hayuliang and Nyato Dukam from Taliha.

These BJP candidates in Arunachal Pradesh secured unopposed wins from their respective constituencies after the opposition candidates either withdrew their nomination or their candidature were rejected following scrutiny.
