ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the Congress party has called for re-polls in two polling stations under Nacho assembly constituency of the state.

The Arunachal Pradesh Congress has demanded re-polling in Dingsar and Lengi polling stations.

The party has demanded re-polls in these two polling stations following alleged irregularities observed during the re-polls conducted on April 24.

It is noteworthy that the re-polling in these two polling stations, along with six others, was ordered by the election commission of India (ECI) after reports of violence and booth snatching surfaced from the initial voting conducted on April 19.

Arunachal Pradesh Congress vice-president Toko Mina stressed the necessity of upholding the principles of free and fair elections.
