ITANAGAR: An animal centre in the Northeast state of Arunachal Pradesh has rehabilitated as many as 60 bear cubs.

Centre for Bear Rehabilitation & Conservation (CBRC) at Pakke Tiger Reserve in Arunachal Pradesh recently announced the successful rehabilitation of 60 bear cubs.

These 60 bear cubs were rehabilitated by the CBRC in Arunachal Pradesh since its establishment in the year 2001.

It may be mentioned here that CBRC in Arunachal Pradesh is the sole Asiatic bear rehabilitation facility in the country.

It is reportedly a collaborative effort between the Arunachal Pradesh environment, forest and climate change department and the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI).

Notably, CRBC rehabilitated at least five bear cubs between 2022 and 2023.

Furthermore, CBRC played a vital role in rescuing various wildlife species across Arunachal Pradesh.
