Arunachal: China's PLA makes fresh incursion into Indian territory

Guwahati: China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been reported to have entered Indian territory in the Kapapu area of Anjaw district in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to a report by NewsFy, the PLA troops ventured at least 60 kilometres inside Indian territory, leaving behind telltale signs of their presence, including bonfires, spray-painted rocks, and Chinese food materials.

This latest incursion is seen as part of a pattern of aggressive behaviour by the PLA in the region.

In 2022, visuals emerged of PLA soldiers overseeing infrastructure activities near Hadigra Lake, while in 2021, satellite images revealed the construction of a second cluster of buildings inside Indian territory in Arunachal Pradesh.

However, it has also been alleged that the Indian Army has maintained silence on the latest incident, despite repeated queries from the media.

The incursion has raised concerns about China's intentions in the region, particularly given the PLA's history of transgressions in Arunachal Pradesh, including a 2020 incident in Dibang Valley district and the construction of a wooden bridge over Doimru Nallah in 2019.

It may be mentioned that Arunachal Pradesh shares a 1,126-kilometer border with China, which has long been a source of tension between the two nations.
