Imphal: In a series of coordinated operations along the Manipur-Myanmar border and the Imphal East district, security forces have recovered a huge cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.

The joint operation, involving central and state forces, targeted known militant hideouts in the Chandel and Churachandpur districts.

In the Chandel district's Gulzil village, bordering Myanmar, security personnel discovered a pistol, a hand grenade, a grenade ignitor, bulletproof jackets, and other military equipment abandoned by Kuki militants.

Meanwhile, in the Shejang village of Churachandpur, forces unearthed a rocket, a modified M-16 rifle, and various types of mortars and launchers.

In the Imphal East district, a raid on Chanung and C Zoulen villages led to the recovery of a locally made gun, an SLR magazine, and ammunition.

All seized items have been handed over to the Manipur police for further investigation. The successful operations are a significant blow to militant activities in the region and demonstrate the ongoing efforts of security forces to maintain peace and stability.
