Guwahati: The Assam Public Works (APW) on Friday launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and DGP GP Singh over the ULFA(I) bomb threats across the state.

APW chief Abhijit Sarma questioned the state's intelligence apparatus, demanding to know how the militant outfit managed to plant multiple bombs without detection.

"Where was our 'dynamic' Chief Minister, where was Assam’s 'dynamic' DGP GP Singh, and where was Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Bora?" he asked.

"How did ULFA(I) manage to bring in 25 bombs and plant them across the state? They must answer," Sarma added.

The APW chief urged both the militant leader and the Chief Minister to end their "brotherly feud," suggesting that their public animosity was masking a deeper, more sinister relationship.

The APW leader further expressed concern over the potential increase in ULFA(I) activities if the political situation in Bangladesh changes. He warned that the militant group could become more active in Assam, posing a serious threat to the state's security.

Sarma called upon Chief Minister Sarma to take the situation seriously and urged the government to investigate the lapses in security that allowed the ULFA(I) to carry out its planned attacks.

He called for a thorough investigation into the matter, including questioning the Superintendents of Police in areas where the bombs were planted
