Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Communist Party for allegedly perpetuating discord among Tripura's tribal communities, 'impeding' the state's progress for political advantage.

Addressing an election campaign at Kumarghat in Unakoti District, Shah underscored the detrimental effects of Communist governance, citing impoverishment, lack of educational and healthcare resources, and the recruitment of disillusioned youth into armed groups. He contrasted this with Prime Minister Modi's initiatives, such as providing laptops and employment opportunities to mainstream youth.

Addressing historical erasure, Shah highlighted PM Modi's decision to immortalize Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya by naming the Tripura International Airport after him, despite Communist efforts to suppress his legacy.

In his critique of both the Congress and the Communists, Shah lamented the historical exclusion of Adivasi community members from higher governance positions. Conversely, he praised PM Modi for appointing the first Adivasi President, emphasizing Modi's commitment to the safety, dignity, and equitable development of indigenous communities.

Shah commended Tripura's electorate for rejecting Communist rule and embracing PM Modi's vision for development. He cited significant budget increases for tribal affairs under Modi's administration and emphasized targeted development efforts in tourism, connectivity, healthcare, employment, and infrastructure, particularly in tribal areas.

Highlighting recent agreements with Tipra Motha as pivotal for peace and harmony, Shah praised Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha for his dedicated efforts towards the state's development.

In conclusion, Shah urged Tripura's residents to trust PM Modi's leadership, emphasizing the potential for further development and the eradication of insurgency under his governance.
