According to the Border Security Force (BSF), students are coming back to India through different ICPs along the Tripura border as the situation in Bangladesh worsens.

“Indian and foreign students studying in Bangladesh are returning to India because the agitation has turned violent. As of 4 PM today, approximately 100 students, including some from Nepal, have returned using valid documents. More are expected to arrive soon,” said a BSF spokesperson.

The BSF is closely monitoring the situation at the border and has put troops on high alert. Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier, Patel Piyush Purushottam Das, IPS, assured all possible assistance to the returning students and has communicated with the Border Guards Bangladesh for their cooperation.

The BSF has arranged refreshments and transport at the ICPs to ensure the smooth arrival and further movement of these students to their destinations.
